Workshops that we have been involved in include the Women of Worth (WOW) 3-day Workshop which was commissioned by the National Youth Development Outreach (NYDO). According to the vision of NYDO the aim of WOW was to restore a women’s value in society through an empowerment workshop to reduce their vulnerability to threats of violence and to provide opportunities for women advocacy matters. The objectives were as follows:
- For WOW to be an extraordinary space for women to have honest internal conversations and to celebrate “who I am”, knowing where “I” fit within the world, on the continent, in the country, and in a specific community.
- For WOW to be a safe space for women to have unapologetic honest conversations about being witnesses to or being victims of violence within day-to-day living.
- For WOW to create an opportunity for women to bring change in their daily functioning through information, empowerment and advocacy facilitated by community activities.
- For WOW to begin healing and restoring through the power of sharing stories and establishing support networks to stand up against violence and abuse in each community.
